Introduction

The economic and societal issue of the digital divide has recently attracted a lot of attention. The differences in access to the Internet and other Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that underpin globalization across families, people, and enterprises are referred to as the "digital divide" globally. The digital divide between industrialized and less developed nations, often known as the urban-rural split at the national level, is frequently referred to as the "global digital divide." This is due to the fact that, in contrast to rural and local communities, there is a higher frequency of information flow into major cities or urban areas in the majority of developing countries. One of the main causes of this is that rural populations find it difficult to keep up with the growth of digital connection, as Internet and broadband infrastructures are difficult to access in these areas. The majority of people in these communities lack an education, making it difficult for them to learn IT skills, and because of their poor income, mobile devices and other technology-enabled equipment may be too expensive for them to obtain. As a result, it might be difficult for these towns to keep access to public services, obtain outside information, or even obtain current information on their nearby villages. This further results in subpar health care, children being left behind, and rural hallowing. To close and close the digital divide in rural regions, therefore, is crucial.
